Ubisoft gives us the first two developer diaries of "Ghost Recon Phantoms", the new free to play game that was born from "Ghost Recon: Future Soldier". In the first two episodes the devs discuss the weight of being given such a prestigious franchise, the difficulties or multilingual development, learning from past mistakes and more. Exclusive web series depicts the journey of taking Ghost Recon Online to Ghost Recon Phantoms
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – April 4, 2014, Today, Ubisoft released the first two episodes of the web series Ghost Recon Phantoms: The Journey. To celebrate the launch ofGhost Recon Phantoms on Steam and PC on April 10, Ubisoft has created a series that takes viewers through the process of creating and evolving Ghost Recon Online into Ghost Recon Phantoms.
“Our fans have stood by our side for the past two years and we want to give them behind the scenes insight into the thought and work that went into maintaining, improving and evolving the game.” said Corey Facteau, producer of Ghost Recon Phantoms. “The information shared in the series goes beyond Ghost Recon Phantoms and discusses free-to-play games more generally, touching upon our learnings about the importance of community, having the right production team to ensure all parts of the game move in synchronization and the challenges of offering a game as a service. We hope that through Ghost Recon Phantoms: The Journey, players, and people hoping to learn more about free-to-play games, will understand the efforts put behind launching a massive free-to-play title like Ghost Recon Phantoms.”

The first discusses how Ubisoft Singapore inherited the Ghost Recon brand and the second is about the intense process behind launching a game in closed beta. Two episodes will be released weekly on Ubisoft’s YouTube channel through April.
Developed by Ubisoft Singapore, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Phantoms is a tactical, 3rd-person, team-based shooter that allows players to engage in fierce 16-player online matches. The game delivers a premium online-multiplayer-shooter experience that is downloadable and playable for free on PC and Steam. Players can choose between three classes of characters, six special devices and thousands of weapon combinations to suit their particular style of play. Players not only earn points through their individual performance but also for with their ability to support their team. Offering unique gameplay, Ghost Recon Phantoms melds the intensity of a shooter and the tactical depth of a MOBA to provide players with a one of a kind experience.
